Description

The film was a phenomenal box office success and a landmark in the development of computer-generated special effects. Complimented by natural one-liner humor that eases tension, kid characters that aren't obnoxious, and a perspective on dinosaurs that never loses curiosity and amazement, Jurassic Park's concept is brought to life with the pinnacles of what Spielberg has to offer. The "radar shotgun" scene is another where the DTS soundtrack kicks its counterpart onto the sidelines.

Jurassic Park is Steven Spielberg's 1993 adaptation of the 1990 Michael Crichton novel of the same name, in which a routine visit to a dinosaur park goes terribly wrong. While it contains extras (unlike the Superbit version), the picture quality is not up to scratch on this edition, and whilst still superior to the Dolby Digital track, the DTS soundtrack falls short again of the Superbit. Director Steven Spielberg's Jurassic masterpiece is back in this Collector's Edition containing interviews and special behind-the-scenes footage.Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more.

This 25th Anniversary Edition doesn't try to pull what other releases from Universal have done before: the whole "leaving an empty placeholder slot for the latest film" deal. Una pena que no tenga planos con efecto pop-ups, de todas maneras lo he disfrutado con la misma intensidad que la primera vez que disfruté de la versión en 2D en el cine. This great movie back in the early 90`s still has some of its charm, although some of it simply rub off during the years. I can understand to distaste towards the front cover art but it doesn't really detract anything from the set and it's varied enough to be decent on it's own, plus it's nice to get some variant covers instead of simply getting the 93 poster over and over (tho they still included that option in the american set). This fragile balance will determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures.

There's some distracting wheezy snarls in the kitchen scene that weren't there originally, and which feel like they should be further in the background instead of sounding so close. Let's be honest, if there's one reason to shell out for another copy of Jurassic Park (because you likely already own it, right? Of course, what works best in Jurassic Park is the suspense generated by dinosaurs unleashed, elevated by well-crafted adult and child characters coping with the dangers when those barriers separating humans from prehistoric "monsters" malfunction. The LFE is still there - the opening credits still have guts, and the shotgun radar will still roll bass through your room - but not to the same degree as the Japanese Superbit does. While holding onto a solid veil on film grain, the harshness of clarity -- often appearing boosted in the original Blu-ray, sporting garbled pixels and some edge halos -- has been corrected and enriched throughout, allowing the textures previously visible to have softer, more innate clarity and for a few underlying details, mostly in stone wall textures and dirt debris on clothing, to show off a bit that was previously concealed by the sharpness amplification.
