So, assuming your mechanic has proper diagnostic abilities, he/it has told you the NOx sensor is buggered. Cars been playing up recently with erratic idle on start up and increased fuel consumption as well as Amber engine light ateast twice in the past week. I've now taken the car to a proper BMW dealer for a diagnosis on the engine light coming on and I'm a bit baffled. I would be surprised, however, if there were no other faults shown if the car runs like a sack of shit, as you describe. Ok well I will tell her to tell BMW no to the nox sensor change and take it out for a good old ragging In a few days when she is back and report back.

R S Parkin, Company number: 07317803, Registered address Unit 1 Carbon Court, Springvale Road, Park Springs, Barnsley, S72 7FF.Especially since the advertisement stated they've done extensive work on it like an oil change, rebalancing and a '250 point' checkup? Should my one question as to why my engine light comes on not simply be answered by one diagnostic with the appropiate software? In your or anyone's opinion, if the sensors are at fault, the timing chain or tensioner needing replacement and the mechanic also mentioning the rear differential is on its last legs (wheezing sound which I personally don't hear), do you think the seller should have picked up these issues before selling the car? As a starting point, I would check for leaks in the intake – parts not seated properly, torn intake boot, that kind of thing. I had my Nox sensor on my Audi A3 go before, he drove still drive the same but engine management light came on. I would doubt the NOx sensor is the cause of this - which is why I'm dubious your mechanic has told you the right information - and I'm also surprised that the diagnostic has shown a failed sensor, yet (without anything to suggest otherwise) he's saying he doesn't think that is the issue. Now I don't trust the mechanic as he clearly looks down on BMWs and his first question was whether my car had a chain or belt?

I recently took the car to a BMW/German cars specialist (not dealer) for full service, everything looks great. No EngiNe Light】 Supplied with the Advanced Chip and Sensors, our Nox Sensor is able to talks with the CAN network, let your Car's ECU recognized the new sensor and Fix the Engine Light OFF. I just came of the phone with them and they said 'it's the fuel pressure sensor and every other fault codes follows from here'. Even after longer burning, cleaning off the soot, it turned out that the insulation of the wires was not damaged at all! Other than that, it's a case of unscrewing it out of the exhaust and disconnecting the cable connection.Park’s of Hamilton (Townhead Garage) Limited, Douglas Park Limited, and Park’s (AYR) Limited, are Appointed Representatives of Park’s of Hamilton (Holdings) Limited, of 14 Bothwell Road, Hamilton, ML3 0AY, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a credit broker.
